I have something to ask, we have a lot of growers in her.. And if something would be wrong it would become great if the seed was markt with the latest 2> growers not to hang any one, but to let the bad seed drop of..
it wasn't bad seed Hasse it was our careless mail system over here, the automatic mail sorter crushes seed if it not packed With a piece of bubble wrap or paper towel

Nope I didn't think they was "badseed" just saying IF it's bad seed some times it's much easier to not grow em, and take the same variants but better. A great seed bank isn't easy to handle, in here its not even so needed to day, more for the future..

My seed arrived in good shape - in a plain envelope, from Don - a couple of weeks ago, and got planted last night.

Bob selected a couple of early varieties for me - Peremozhetz 83 (NPGS, from Poland via Russia) and Lonibow, from Canada.

Thank you, Bob!

They're going to be my staple crop this year - probably 50 plants. My inventory is now comfortable - I'm half way through my 2012 crop.

But I'm having a fit. Last Dec I repackaged my entire seed collection from plastic film canisters into space-saving paper envelopes, nicely sorted by name and year. And put the lot in a safe place for planting time.

And I've been trying for 3 days to FIND THEM! No joy - but they'll turn up in time, like many other things I've stored safely! A very extended senior's moment!

Its been a few weeks and no growth from the grow out seed that were crushed in the mail. I was hoping at least a few would germinate, but no.

Low germination of apparently crushed seed here too. Only one complete fail though, at least got two or three of the others. Will baby them.

It's not funny to tell but the seed: Amarelao (PI:322744) and Virginia (PI:405583) don't seem to grow..

My grow-out seeds Colon PI 62293 (Hungarian) Adiyaman PI 494145 (Oriental) have been in for nearly three weeks now, there has been no germination signs as of today. I am just thinking how old are some of these seeds, I will keep my fingers crossed and hopefully something will show.

Beginning to wonder about the seeds I got too.... Planted Mar 14, and so far only two sprouts that seem quite different from other tobacco seedlings in the past

I was beginning to suspect my starting technique, but a couple of other types I started on the 24th in the same chamber started showing yesterday and today.

This all sounds rather unfortunate.
It is a bummer.
I only got 3 seedlings from one type to grow out of three.
They are stunted per say. Not growing at all but still trying.

Outsiders would say:"This guys don't know, how to grow tobacco".

I received two strains. Which I started on March 12.
Criollo colorado PI 121534
Stamm PI 405520

Criollo Colorado looks like this:

After more than two weeks Stamm looks dead. There is one seed which looks cracked but after so long time I'm not sure something good can happen.
Fingers crossed also for other growers. Good luck.

The problem is if not a seed going to grow, it doesn't grow..
If it's grow and then die its another thing. I see it more like if I only getting one to grow and let it be a new start..

In the wild, seeds can lay dormant for multiple seasons. If annuals only had one shot, and they had one bad year, they'd go extinct pretty quick. So I don't claim to know what the process is, but I think the seeds you've already planted still have a chance.
