It's not. I'm highly prejudice against people (where my grammar checker at?) who don't reply to PM's when I ask "what variety of Burley would you like". I suppose I could have done a search for his phone number to call him personally, but at the time, I must have been too busy.

Seems to me the only fair thing to do is refund his registration. A deal is a deal, right? The deal was "register and get free seeds"...he didn't get the seeds, so he should get his registration back...right?

When i read that guys post, i was dissgusted. Went and read all of his posts, and they all sounded the same. I should get his addy to send him some cheese to fo with that whine.
I purchased my first seeds on ebay from seedgnome for the price of a pack of smokes incl. Shipping. That was before i found this site and HTGT, now i wont nees to buy seeds ever again, but will trade and pay forward to newcomers next year.
Dont expect to be handed everything to you for free. Freebies are a bonus.

The sad thing about his post is, had he asked or suggested he needed something to grow, I know he would have been offered free seedlings or at least an opportunity to buy some plants ready to put in the ground.

I'm sorry things didn't work out, but if he is that intent on growing tobacco, there are many other resources other than free seeds.

I do the best I can to make everybody happy...that's all I can do. There is no doubt about it...I am not perfect.

Actually, for the super poor treatment, you should refund double his registration fees! Triple if you are really sorry :p

Isn't the rule that you have to make 25 substantive posts before your first free seed packet? If so, isn't this kind of moot anyway as he has only made 20 posts since signing up (unless of course many were deleted or something).

I dunno I think FM was punished enough to do away with the blanket offer anyway. He's always giving stuff away as it is. Our members give away seed too, so there is no reason for this entitlement mentality to be directed at one person. It's not like he has the only supply, for a few bucks ANYONE can actually own seed too:) without demanding something for free.

Oh agreed! I think the fact that Don is willing to give away seeds for free (even pays the postage) is very generous indeed. I get a sense that this was nothing more than a huge misunderstanding that just spun way out of control.

I'll leave it at that ;)

I am not sure if you are reading my comment literally or playing off my sarcasm, but to be clear, I am 100% behind Don on this.

I will admit, I sometimes forget that sarcasm is not always clear on the internet. This was my way of expressing my support for Don, corroborating others' assertions that what was said was unreasonable and very rude, while avoiding a huge flame war. We are a community afterall. Getting into a big argument is one way to resolve issues, but their are others. Best to get our points across somewhat clearly and respond to mistreatment of members here (especially the leader of the pack) without being divisive, IMHO. Who knows, the guys cat could have gotten run over that day. Everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt. (With that, I think someone owes Don an apology... looking toward a certain amphibian)
