I'm off to find an old tobacco basket to put the dried stuff in so I can put the rest on the drier. I'm going to try to find a spear too. I can get them at the hardware store in Mt Vernon, but they'er 16 bucks. My brother dug up some more tobacco sticks.

Mom gave me a basket my Grandpa made for the Richmond Ky auction warehouse. He made the baskets for a living for a while. Bro dug me up 17 old sticks for a six pack.

Pics when I can.

Will look forward to those pics. I find the "vintage" stuff interesting.

I got impatient with the mud lugs, so I separated the best hole leaf and set it aside on grandpa's basket. Then I brought the rest up to the house and popped them in the oven on lowest heat for about 15 minutes. The result was perfect, and I spent the afternoon destemming and cutting the bacca.

The cut product is now in a cookie tin I got for 50 cents. It's at 71% humidity. When wife gets home I'll have her take pictures.

I'm not much of a smoker, so I waited for my brother and sister in-law to test the baccer in cigarettes. My sister in-law loved the stuff so much she tossed out the store bought "pipe tobacco" she's been rolling and just smokes my stuff now. My mom loves the stuff. I've only got about two of those tins of the mud lugs, so when it's gone they'll have to wait for the rest to cure and age.

It's a bit bland in my pipe though.

Abit of fire cured some turkish or latakia and it would be all good in a pipe..sounds like it just needs some depth.
