I am pile curing to yellow the sucker crop but some of the leaf are going from yellow to dark brown in a day.
I am re piling ever day but they go from yellow to dark brown over 24 hrs. Just a few leaves. Are they starting to rot? The garage maintains 70 rh. No control on the temp. Stays over 75 per say.

If they are thin leaves and really wet is possible it is soft rot.

Is easy to tell when one side of a leaf is brown and thin enuff to see thru and the other side is thick and normal.

I tried to pile yellow some Oriental the other day and the middle rotted in a hurry. Just a few hours. I had them in a box with a towel over it. I think it really needed some air flow. Now I'm hanging them till yellow and then putting them in the sun for sun curing.

I had some stuff I cut down.It was just layin on the ground. It cured to a nice color on one side but green on the other. If I had flipped it I think it would have looked good. But it mite have tasted like crap. I think I mite try a few leaves.

This year, I tried stalk curing a Turkish variety (Çelikhan) in a pile. It turned directly from green to brown with dark green hues and never rotted in the pile. I think you skipped the wilting stage before curing or forgot to aerate the pile frequently.
