Well said. I have been taking care of him a lot as she rests and heals up. I'm always surprised by how much time passes by with him because he's just a joy.

Just curious... I have been using tap water to feed my tobacco plants which I tested today which is a 7.0 Ph. I was wondering if any one else has tested and adjusted the water ph for tobacco plants or has added additives besides fertilizer. Extra nitrogen, calcium or magnesium ? Or do most people test the ph of the soil prior to adding extra additives if any ? I have some germinated seeds right now as I'm trying to squeeze in another harvest before its too late.

If it was me I'd test the soil. I believe thats where most plants get their dinner. Through the roots.
If your water was bad ( acidic, alkaline, hard or soft) then you may have to look at fixing it. Otherwise don't worry about it. Apply a good fertilizer to the ground, anything suitable for tomatoes, potatoes ect, and water away happily. Don't overdo it though.

I have been pile curing in a cardboard box with previous success until now. I noticed some of the leaves are drying with dark green spots. Should I just toss them or hang them in a day or two ? I could swear that when I picked the leaves about 4 days ago they where very yellow with a little green about. Almost as if pile curing made them worse. Is it worth putting a damp towel to bring the humidity up ?

If they are truly dry yet still green, I would just toss them. Stacking them more compactly, in a smaller box, might slow the drying.
