Does anyone here grow their own tea? I am thinking about purchasing a plant to put in the beer garden to harvest. They seem to take root really easy and in the process of researching and trying to find some clippings to start my own. Anyone have any experience with these?

Very much like tobacco it comes from one plant but processed differently. Black tea, oolong, white tea, green tea. Lapsang Souchong is smoke dried with pinewood and it reminds me of latakia. My wife is also on the hunt for clippings or seeds in her plant groups before i go and spend money on yet ANOTHER plant lol

I did see that. There are other reputable plant sites as well that have it. You can get a larger older one as well which is what i will prob go with so it doesn't take 5 years to have a cup of tea. My wife enjoys starting stuff like that. She always has more luck with it than i do. We will prob just end up buying one at some point though. Im surprised its not as common as one would think.

I stole seeds from Glendale Tea Estate in Tamil Nadu and neither I nor a friend could get them to germinate. I guess that's Karma.
