What is the ambient humidity where you smoke and how moist is your pipe tobacco? Do you keep some blends in low case and other in medium?

Im in Florida and typically smoke outside at night (11pm - 4am) and humidity is generally around 90%. I keep my tobacco ready to smoke in low case (rustling leaves). This makes for a harsh smoke when humidity drops to 30%, as it has been lately here during the day.

Maybe I should smoke cigars during the day and save piping for the evening? Thoughts?

Relative humidity here is about ~%40.
I have to spritz my leaves a little when I want to work with them, or they're a tad crumbly, but it seems to be almost just right for smoking.
If I let a blend in a ziploc go for too long, I might have to case it a little bit so it doesn't turn to shake. I'd rather have it too dry than too wet.
I just pack it tighter if it's on the drier side.

Thank you for responding.
I resolved this issue by just spraying some water on the tobacco and letting it hydrate for a day. Still dry enough for a humid evening but the dry-harsh is gone. The subtle difference is "rustling leaves" vs "quiet leaves". Nowhere damp enough to mold. Also for my cigs Im dropping the sugar from the casing as it was making cigs wet part of the way though. The licorice alone is enough to smooth mild cigar leaf (Glasgow which you are familiar).

BTW- Ive come to the conclusion that that particular leaf is really Long Red. The Monkey is likely from the same variety but a higher leaf position.

Makes sense. Sugar is hygroscopic.
Why Long Red?
My circuitous (and uneducated / inexperienced) logic led me to figure they were PA 41 and PA grown GROS:
Grown in PA - Probably purchased through Lancaster Leaf, or at least they were involved somewhere in the distribution chain, because I think almost everything grown in PA goes through them - those are the 2 PA DAC they have listed.
Again, that's purely speculation

Its logical to assume the Amish still grow heirloom varieties
Its a mild leaf with a woody aroma and ever so slight pine-like undertone
light brown between thin and medium thickness
medium texture, not very oily or stretchy but would make good filler
10-12" wide and 26-30" long.
My guess on nicotine is 1.8-2.5%

Reading though the descriptions on NWTSeeds I don't think Im right. Though I would bet dollars to doughnuts that its one of the following; Pennsylvania Red, Long Red, Ohio Dutch or Little Dutch.

I must grow all four this fall to solve this riddle.
Then Ill have to learn to roll a cigar....
then learn how to smoke a cigar....
then start my own cigar company.
Wait....what?
