Cooked a batch of snus from my winter crop of Trabzon2. Mixed up 500g of tobacco flour, 300g water, 30g salt. Packed into mason jars and sealed. Added enough water to my pot so that the jars almost float and the water is level with or higher than the level of snus in the jars. Cooked at 176 degrees for 32 hours. Unpacked into a mixing bowl and alkalized with 30g of washing soda dissolved in warm water. Put back in jars, sealed and cooked 12 more hours. It's currently in a bowl in the fridge for aging. I will probably test it in a week or 2. The snus reacted strongly when alkalized, so I'm confident it will have a high level of nicotine. I'll post a follow up to let everyone know if it's any good.

I sampled the T2 snus after one week in the fridge. The nicotine content is fairly high, but it tasted very grassy. At 2 weeks, I tasted it again and the grassy taste had abated somewhat. After that, I took about 3 ounces of it and added a little mulethi powder and salmiac. These additions made it better, not great, but better. It's good enough that I'll use it, but the tobacco definitely needed to be aged longer before cooking. It is kind of bland to be honest, it does not have that rich tobacco smell and taste that I would wish for.
