While I was waiting today this little guy flew into my window and knocked himself out. I took this photo and sat him on my balcony rail in the shade. Gave a little bit water with Glucose in it to help with shock. After about half an hour he flew away, we call them wax eyes and they feed on mossies and midges.
Pretty colorful a beautiful iridescent green. Davo can tell us the native name for him, or maybe it's a her I don't know, I like them anyway.

An unfortunate bird flew into the windshield of a 25 ton wrecker moving at 55 mph once...a bluejay feather came in the cab, poor thing. I dont think sugar water would have done it any good!

Looks like your crop is off to a great start O.F. Your bird save made me recall some strikes on our living room window. Not all end well. I did a search on my camera roll and found these pics. A couple are rescues that I placed in a tree to recover. One is a buzzard I spotted dead on the road another is a neighbor who found this raptor on the road near my place and stopped in to show me. The last I just thought was funny, I have no idea why it showed up on a search for bird photos.

Still waiting. A rainy day yesterday got them really cheered up. It was a nice Gentle drizzle and carried on into today. The predicted Thunder storms and strong winds never got to us. Won't be long now and I'll be waiting for them to cure. Here's a pic taken this morning.
