What is the diameter of your 50rg cap cutter?

I'm cutting caps by hand and was wondering if someone could give me this spec? (Don't have a proper cap cutter yet). I assume it's a little under the actual rg of 50 since it's going on the end without any folding/pleating over. I measured out the exact diameter of 50 rg but seems a little too large still. I could keep going with trial-and-error, but why not cut to the chase with all you knowledgeable torcedors out there! Thanks!

So is a cap for a 50rg cigar exactly 50rg in diameter?
I use something smaller... 1/2" copper pipe? Its what I had in the garage. For 50rg it could be slightly bigger, but I would not go as large as the diameter of the cigar. With a triple cap, the round just covers up the little bit of twist in the middle of the head for me. Is it needed? Nope. Do I enjoy adding it only to cut it off later? Yes!

First is a continuation of the wrapper. Second adds structure to that wrapper through the transition. 3rd covers up the pig tail and holds it all together.

My cigars with the triple cap are also molded. The head seems stronger under pressure from the teeth and everything stays in place after cutting too. It's not needed, try some with and without and figure out what you enjoy.
