You will need to research the German laws concerning whole leaf tobacco. In US whole leaf is considered an agricultural product.

While trying to dig up German import laws I ran across a German tobacco site. I have no idea if it’s retail or wholesale but the text says request info with no obligation. Maybe shoot the breeze with the secretary and ask where to find out about the laws or where to go next. They may even sell by the pound.

I wrote an e mail to our customs authority and i hope that they have the will and the right person to answer to my questions.
From what i discouvered from my own digging is that importing goods need to have some form of tax sign infront https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tabaksteuer_(Deutschland) they have to be bought from a special authority and are basically a sign that the tax is payed.
For the privat person this doesn't read that easily and intuitive.

I rolled a twist from Tennessee Dark Fired, Maryland 609, and Dark Grabba. No casing, but I did lightly spritz the leaves that weren't pliable enough with a 50/50 mix of distilled water and 120 proof Knob Creek. I cut up the scraps and stuffed them in a corncob. Delicious, about to have another.

Had a go at a Bob blend. This is his American Cream (13/16 flue cured lemon, 3/16 dark air).
My first attempt at flue curing was pretty hackish but I came up with some highly smokable material, though I didn't know to seperate leaf positions at the time. So I had to guess by the colour of each finished leaf which ones would be most lemon like. My dark air is Goose Creek Red, which I adore. This provided me with a solid satisfying rich smoke that I'll definitely want again. Thanks Bob!

(Edit) Maybe I should note that I pressed it over night, then rubbed it back out.

Being South African, I smoked all local varieties. Jock (named after the loyal dog Jock of the bushveld) mixed 50/50 with a new tobacco distributor Tobac-o-man`s Bass rum and honey. Very light aromatic tobacco.

Since we can not seat in a Cafe we take our coffee in paper cups based on the ''take away" system, apparently the photo isn't from Christmas era is just because the owner had a stock of those.

So i tried the first time the mallard and here is my impression.

Tin Note is really smelling fermented and it is just like a silage like smell. Its really interesting how the tin notes differ quiet a bit.
Full virginia flake is smelling from the tin like a herb tea almost minty, i also bought orlik golden slice (which i have to taste maybe tommorow) and its really smelling sugary green tea like, illsteds golden flake is a cross between orlik and some of the more fermented mallard.

The smoking and i think the first time i had perique in a blend.
The perique really cuts down the relight burn of virginias and i think i tasted something peppery. But its a little bit hard to put my finger one.
The thing which i definitly noticed is that it smokes smoother than the other twos.
The tin note was not really the smoking experience, it was a sweet breadier note which is quiet good.
How long you guys dry your tobacco ? I take it out and let it rest for ca 30min.

I will have to write down some notes as i smoke them again. Do you have the same experience that its quiet hard to remeber small notes in a tobacco ?

And an additional question. Do you guys smoke the complete bowl ? I have to say that the last.. 1/4 bowl it becomes somewhat bitter and different.
Thats something i experience a little bit more now that i slowly taste the notes in a blend.
