I bet that pipe feels good in the hand. Am I right? I like the shape.
Oh Yea, l that's actually the reason I bought this pipe recently. It is similar enough to my Auenland Hugg churchwarden (still my fav pipe) that's also by Vauen, but i wanted something I could clench and free my hands up. hugg.jpg

So far I'm liking Vauens much more than my other pipes.

Having been bypassed by the hail and heavy rains that pounded all around us, I’m relaxing with a little of my own blend in the Peterson Kildare. “Dark Lady” is half in-sorted bright and red Virginia, a quarter VA Cavendish made from the same leaf, and a quarter Perique… with smidge of light fire cured tossed in just because. It’s not bad. Not fantastic either, but at about 3/4 my own leaf I’m reasonably happy with it. I think more time in the press and a few months in the jar will improve it substantially.

Nording Freehand Signature Briar Fox.jpg

Briar Fox is great in the morning, and going to tear into some FM OTB later. Getting some pretty good patina developed on the unfinished Nording Freehand. I've had it since about 2014 or 2015 and most of the color is from when it was dedicated to McClelland 5110 Dark English. It is a great pipe fits well in the hand more so than just about anything, but a bit too heavy to clench for extended periods of time.

No plastic corn cob straight from China, took one month in the mail and did only cost 2 dollar, actually smokes like a corn cob and that is nice!
Had to try it and got to say, a 2 dollar pipe can actually make a good smoke! Looks cool too without a plastic bit IMO. I just smoked some burley in it.
It is actually better than the corn cobs in the local tobacco store cause it has a larger bowl.
Just a fun side project to try the cheapest chinese corn cob and see how it smokes!

Peter Stokkebye PS52 "Proper English". Supposedly the heaviest in latakia made by Stokkebye, blended with old belt virginias and orientals. Nice smoke. The sweet VAs shined through and the orientals were fragrant. Nice smoke.
