Transplanted Java Besuki and Vuelta Abajo this morning. They could have stood another week in the tray, but I think they'll be okay.

The middle row is supposedly Yellow Pryor, but they look suspiciously like One Sucker. I thought I was being very careful, but I may have inadvertently grabbed the wrong set of sprouts when I planted them. There are 2 plants out of the 25 that look completely different from the others. The closeup of the 2 plants shows the difference. The closeup of the single plant is one of the odd ones. 3 weeks from transplant.

It'll be okay either way, OS is my go-to dark variety anyway.

One week from transplant for the cigar varieties, four weeks for One Sucker. I pruned 3-4 leaves from the bottom of all the OS a few days ago.

One Sucker is beginning to form buds at 7 weeks as usual. I'll top them in a week or two.

The cigar varieties at 4 weeks from transplant.

So far, this has been a mostly trouble-free grow with minimal pest damage and no disease.

Every morning, I mix one heaping tablespoon of MG for tomatoes and about a half teaspoon of Epsom salts into a five-gallon bucket filled with water and using a small soda can (7.5 ounces) with the top cut off, I pour a can full over the center shoot of each plant. The solution runs down the plant to the roots resulting in foliar and root feeding. This is a fairly weak solution, and I've never had any kind of damage from pouring it over the shoots and leaves. I took readings of the solution with a water quality tester, EC=1500, TDS=750 and PH=6.6.

The main crop of One-Sucker at 8 weeks. I'll top them in the next few days.
The close-up picture of the broader leaf plant is what I believe to be Yellow Pryor. It's a nice plant that looks like it will give a good yield, I have 2 of those.
The cigar varieties at 5 weeks.
We've had some really nice weather the past few weeks, clear and breezy with low humidity and moderate temperatures.

Before and after topping One-Sucker. I topped them down to about a twelve-inch leaf, some plants were left with 8 leaves and others as many as 12, average leaf count is about 10. Some of the lower leaves are almost ripe.

The cigar varieties are growing well. The two close-up pictures show the difference between Java Besuki and Vuelta Abajo. The VA leaf has ruffled edges and are a little broader.

One-Sucker at 9 weeks from transplant, they were topped 4 days ago.

Six weeks from transplant for the cigar varieties. Vuelta Abajo is budding and will need to be topped in a week or so.

We had a little bit of rain late yesterday afternoon, it's warm and humid today.

I had intended to grow equal amounts of One-Sucker and Yellow Pryor, but I screwed it up somehow and wound up with 48 OS and only 2 YP. The YP looks healthy and should yield enough to give me an idea of whether I want to grow it again.

One-Sucker at 10 weeks from transplant and 11 days from topping. I might prime a few leaves from each plant later on after the dew dries. The RH, according to the 2-week forecast, varies wildly. So, they will be boxed for color curing.

The Vuelta Abajo was topped a few days ago. The Java Besuki will be topped in a few days.
