This Little Leaf Cucumber is pretty and cute. It's about the easiest veggie I've ever grown and harvested.

The lactate fermented pickles (with dill and garlic) are closer to Claussen style pickles than the vinegar pickles that are sold on the unrefrigerated shelves of the grocery stores.different taste tho.

Just trying to relink to my older post of the putative wild Gandoderma sp. that is still growing in the backyard. My "official" mushroom Gandoderma kit is begining to take form and is still a few weeks out from fully forming...Any mushroom experts out there? I see a tree fungus growing at the base of my redbud tree and I'm curious if it's a Gandoderma.

Just thought it would be ironic since the kids bought me a reishi mushroom (Gandoderma sp) growing kit for Father's Day and I have some in the process of growing in the bedroom.
Good thing that grows from a kit. If I came across it in the wild, it just wouldn't shout, "eat me".Gandoderma
Even from a kit I'm not convinced I'm going to eat itGood thing that grows from a kit. If I came across it in the wild, it just wouldn't shout, "eat me".

Looks like you'll have a good harvest. Are you going to try making wine with them? Out here people use muscadine grapes for wine making. It's different but good.
I wonder, have you ever tried cucumber wine? Maybe interesting.![]()
It's been all of 3 days since I had any cukes of a size to harvest. I'm lazy. Now...what to do with them,

I'm more likely to try cucumber soup.I wonder, have you ever tried cucumber wine? Maybe interesting.
I think I have read a post here that uses smashed cucumber.I'm more likely to try cucumber soup.
"The secret to making delicious cucumber salad is to give the cucumber a coarse texture so it holds more sauce. Instead of chopping the cucumber, smash it with a cleaver first."
Hmmm. Smash the cucumber. I'll have to think about that.

You can cheat and substitute sour cream for yogurt. It's slightly different but comes out pretty good. The tzaziki sounds good, but I'll have to make up a batch of yogurt.
