This Little Leaf Cucumber is pretty and cute. It's about the easiest veggie I've ever grown and harvested.

Well I hope this counts for the garden just netted some Frontenac grapes these are 3 years in the making View attachment 32215
Now those slippery grapes can't get away:)
Looks like you'll have a good harvest. Are you going to try making wine with them? Out here people use muscadine grapes for wine making. It's different but good.

Any mushroom experts out there? I see a tree fungus growing at the base of my redbud tree and I'm curious if it's a Gandoderma.

Just thought it would be ironic since the kids bought me a reishi mushroom (Gandoderma sp) growing kit for Father's Day and I have some in the process of growing in the bedroom.
Just trying to relink to my older post of the putative wild Gandoderma sp. that is still growing in the backyard. My "official" mushroom Gandoderma kit is begining to take form and is still a few weeks out from fully forming...

They are supposed to have healthy medicinal properties - personally I would have preferred a nice delicious lions mane or even oyster mushrooms, but since the kids gave it to me I can at least say it's neat looking:)

I tried making wine a time or two and decided it was best left to the professionals. Mead is more my speed - harder to screw up:)
I'm sure yours will turn out better than my did. Good luck with it.

I wonder, have you ever tried cucumber wine? Maybe interesting.
I'm more likely to try cucumber soup.

"The secret to making delicious cucumber salad is to give the cucumber a coarse texture so it holds more sauce. Instead of chopping the cucumber, smash it with a cleaver first."

Hmmm. Smash the cucumber. I'll have to think about that.

I think I have read a post here that uses smashed cucumber.
I'm not sure what it was but I think it was a salad.

The wife used to make some fried cucumber thing she called gorgen morgen, but I have a feeling that name was given to the recipe by the Swedish chef .

Bob, If you are into Asian food there are a lot of different types of bahn mi recepies with cucumber. Personally I like bahn mi with just thin slices of pork, cucumbers and the sauce on the buns.
There is always tazaiki for gyros or as a dip - for eating more cucumbers:)

Even better you could hit @Charly up for some slugs and use the cucumbers to cover your eyes while applying a slug/snail mask, you could be beautiful in no time;)
