I'm with y'all in spirit. Lots of indoor in my past before getting land. If I ever get my plant room or shed cleaned out I might do an indoor grow just for kicks. Having plants in the house always makes me so happy.

You might want to read about photoperiod and plant maturation. Some tobacco varieties are strikingly photoperiod sensitive.

Yes it may be so but the tobacco specific information about photoperiod is very limited on the web. Anyway I only grow Tofta so it is only that one I care a lot about. I got som Prilep seeds but I am afraid to grow it, maybe it will grow to tall for the tent?

I don't remember how many hours I had the lights on the last grow but I did not have a timer so anyway I most likely kept the light on all the time, maybe I will know if I read this thread, it is my grow diary.

Anyway, my best bet is to get a variety for the north if I want to have lights on all the time so I got that right, nights are very long in the summer here so short day plants don't mature.

Anyway, good point, I got a timer, maybe I will use it when it is time for maturation. Maybe 12/12 would speed up maturation?

In the back: Fan, humidifier, canister for refilling humidifier and a blue grape hyacinth I rescued from the supermarket. The air intake is behind the humidifier and the fan is a cheap table fan hanging upside down.

The cheapo fan stopped so the tent got a bit foggy but the plants seem to like it.
This is a picture with most of the fog aired out.
The cheapo fan worked at the highest speed so not a big deal. The plants can take some wind I guess when the air is humid.
Dry air can be tough, then the plants have to close it's pores to save water but when the wind is foggy the plants can have the pores open and breath well without drying out.

Yes, I kind of simulate the midnight sun.

If I shut the lights off the temperature drops and then the relative humidity rises so with lights on 24/7 I get less fluctuation in humidity and it is good because I plan to hang the harvested leafs in the upper part of the tent while growing below.

I plan to get a more advanced humidifier with a hygrostat inbuilt though, that kind of solves the problem also.

It feels nice to grow with midnight sun schedule and Tofta seem to like it cause it is budding and growing fast.

Some leafs are standing vertically after I topped the main stem that had the small vertical leafs.
Last time I topped less and this never happened.
The plants look healthy though.
Does anyone know why?
Is it good?

I solved the problem by tucking the leaf under another leaf. Let's try that! I want the surface of the leaves aimed at the light, it is most likely the best.

In a natural setting, the leaves spread horizontally during the heat of the day. As the sun begins to set, the leaves begin to rise, often being vertical in the top leaves of the stalk. My understanding is that it is simply a response to differing rates of water transpiration from the leaves, and the action of the stomata on the underside. Leaves have different metabolic tasks during the night, compared to the essential daytime task of photosynthesis.

It is growing really short and bushy, it is tight between the nodes.
