5 kw is going to draw around 18 to 20 amps running 230v a/c double it for 115v NEC says you have to run a #10 wire to it. You should see about $6.48 per hour of run time @ 230v.

I think I have 10 wire, wired in all My 220 outlets when I built it.
30 amp plug and breaker. I will double check , being a slab floor and a log garage you only wire once the right way.
I know myself too well to do things that love Juice.
Thanks for the cost info I knew it was going to be pricey.
I might check into Amex s ceramic

Day three did not get much done waiting for parts ect.
I did get my motor and was able to finish sizing up the closed loop ducting.
I do not want to finish it until I get the heat exchangers and finding 4x12x4 duct boots for my heat exchange. Almost impossible to get them right away, I might have to improvise. The tape on the pipe is where the heat exchanger box is going to go.

I need to go down stairs and look - I think somebody grabbed my blower fan! :p
That's a lot of duck work...
Tell me too Kiss off if you like, but I'd be sure every crack is sealed. I had a problem loosing
Humidity early on and had to rip my insulation off and seal em than put the stuff back on.
Itch Itch.

Do you have a hvac supply warehouse anywhere near you? That is a common item in anyone of them. That's a floor boot for a mobile home.

I would never tell you to kiss off. You workhorse And fisherman put a lot into building a flue cure chamber and so did a lot of other people . I would have never tried to attempt to with good results with out you guys.
I do not think I am going to get it done in time tho.
The weather is getting cold and We had light frost last night,
Either I pick leaves or build chamber And take my chances but it is not looking good.
I am still working on chamber until the weekend. Then I will decide
Back to building the control panel.
Oh yea I Am Allergic to insulation.

Reverse tape with the sticky side out and pat your arms. Do not scratch both directions. Hot showers help if you only rub one direction.;) I've been a A/C man about 27 yrs now, and I don't even notice it anymore.

If a real frost threatens, you can prime and hang the leaf indoors for a couple of days, while awaiting the FC chamber.

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgThanks for all the Input Guys, I do appreciate it all and need it.
Day Four now .
I went looking for a old computer case , metal box for the controllers, relays, switches ect.
Crap I can not find the stupidest stuff on the cheap.
I am sitting at my desk and switching computer plugs for the monitor and mouse to another computer that is faster.
Low and behold there is my OSHO certified medical case.
Well it has not been opened in years , Us bodymen use lacquer thinner to clean wounds and masking tape for a bandage.
Screw you MrSafety

Way to go. Lmao.

If frost is going to hit before you get done, just throw in a crock pot and ceramic heater, and wh thermostat; run your leaf and finish over the winter. .

I have tried everywhere it is a week out . I can get 6 in on pipe side but by time I reduce it I think it will be to long to fit in.

It's a big job even if ya don't build the box, Hang in there you'll get her. Like Deluxe say's you can pick and hang it out of the way than load it later.
I had leaf strung and laying on the floor most of the day today.
That box is looking good.....I see ya got some insulation on too....
Maybe put a piece of chain or something from the door to the body to stop the swing. Looks like it will be tight than ya can keep wire to a minimum.

Good idea on the door swing for the wire. I was concerned about that
I did not have any stranded wire around and used solid:
i hope. once closed I will not open often

The guy that had told me his son has a walk-in "might sell" called me. He said it was 10X10X10 and his son wanted 500 bucks for it.
To much money (been outside a few years) and to big for me.

I wouldn't say that, look at the box you scored! Trust me they ain't cheap. I've bought and installed many of them, and you got an awesome deal. The day before yesterday I finished up a 12' x 20' x 7'6" cooler but I wanted to go the other way. When I left last night it was on 42*F headed for 34*.

Fire in the hole !!
I found two duct boots for my heat.
Chucked her together last night for a test spin.
1 hr to go from 59 degrees to 136 and that was with one heating element there are two in there if if I want to kick it up some.
Used 600 degree silicone to seal up the box.
I still have to neaten up the wiring, seal up the pipes, install venting and a window for Amex.
Make a wet bulb and install hooks for hanging tobacco.

Well I installed the heat exchanger tonight and hooked up both heating coils.
250 degrees in less than one hr.
Wtf are all the crack and creaking noises?
The foam is expanding in the walls and pushing them out
It is loud also, uncured foam, go figure but I have heard of it before.
As for aluminum tape do not use it by the heat box it will melt, Amex was right.
I used high temp silicone 600 degrees for the heat box and pipes and it seems to Work well now.I like Amexs heat theory on ramping so I can use one heater or two or my ramp feature in my controller.
A empty box does not act the same as box filled with Wet Baccy.
