Absolutely, use what you have on hand and experiment.This thread made me realize that I might be able to use my wine press for pressing tobacco. Obviously, I wouldn't be using the presser foot and strainer basket, and will need to rig something else up. However, at this time I'm using my wine press to crush honeycomb that I robbed from my bees last weekend. It'll take me another week to finish this chore. I ought to get 2 gallons honey when I'm done. Who wants diabetes?
I also have a manual hydraulic log splitter that I might be able to rig up for pressing tobacco. It might be overkill. 1 ton per sq inch?
