Harrow velvet is maturing and it might soon be ready for harvest.

Tofta is not ready for harvesting.
Strong winds have turned it’s leaf really crooked.

My unknown virginia is maturing really slowly.

Cherry red still needs more time before it’s ready.

Virginia gold also needs more time before it’s ready.

I harvested 5 plants of Tofta.

Cherry red has funny looking leaves (virus?)

10 plants of Tofta curing in my old sauna. We shall see if I manage to colour cure it or not. Mold os my biggest concern.

All but one Harrow velvet is now harvested.
The field is emptying.
What is left:
2 virginia gold
1 harrow velvet
5 cherry red
2 rows of unknown virginia

I think I will soon harvest also cherry red because tips of the lieves are turning yellow.

Tofta lieves might be too close to each other so I probably need to rearrange some of them.

You might able to substitute the space with a little fan. Instead of spacing them a little more, maybe get some airflow going

There is no electricity.
I keep the window slightly open and burn couple on pieces firewood 3 times per week to increase airflow through chimney.

Virginia gold is tomorrow going to be harvested.

I asked the farmer who sold this virginias seeds can he remember anything about the variety. He said he only remembers the seed are from USA. When he bought the seeds 2014 he did not know there are different kinds of virginia.

My virginias are drying too fast so I put them in cardboard box to prevent them drying green. We shall see what happens.

Harrow velvet looks best. No mold yet and the colour looks good.

Cherry red is slowly changing it’s colour to yellow.

Tofta is still green and only slightly brown. None of them are yellow but they are changing the colour from green to brown.

I was away from home and when I got back and had time to look my tobacco I noticed lots of mold. Especially Tofta was hit hard. The weather has been very hot and humid so it was not a surprise. Harrow velvet was best looking so I removed the leaves from to stalk and put them into cardboard box. Box is now drying at my home where the humidity is lower. I will take some pictures later.
