The spider looks like a green bat. We have cicada wasp here. they look more like a yellow jacket in color, but very large. Never had a problem with them. Not even the fear of a sting. Mad-

That wasp is the 'digger wasp' also known as the 'great black wasp'. Mud dauber http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mud_dauber#mediaviewer/File:Sceliphron_caementarium_MHNT_Profil.jpg have yellow on their legs and a long thin waist.

Probably same species, but no yellow on the legs here. I did notice that there's an Organ Cactus one in the same family, but haven't seen those here, maybe out in the desert though. They tend to be smaller than these. Good thing is, they never bother me.
