This richly earthy cigar filler leaf is ideal for broadening the flavor profile of your cigars. When added as 1/5 to 1/2 of a blend with milder filler, it will add depth and nuance to the flavor, and richness to the aroma. This leaf will arrive to you as a dark red-brown color.
With a thick lamina leaf and thick veins, this is a filler grade leaf typically sized roughly 14″ by 5.5″.
Expect roughly 60 to 80 leaves per order pound. Typical Size and Leaves/pound are provided only as an approximate guidance of what you will receive. It is not guaranteed.
Like all ligero leaf (from the upper primings of the plant), it has a stronger flavor than volado, seco and viso, and the leaf is somewhat smaller, with a higher leaf count per pound.
As with all Whole Leaf Tobacco products, this leaf is shipped in thermal sealed vapor-proof bags and arrives in the proper moisture content for working.
One pound of cigar filler should make about 20 – 50 x 7″ cigars.
Waikikigun –
A very good mild ligero. A lot of people are looking for maximum punch from their ligeros, and this ain’t that, but it does taste good and is a great choice for people looking to make a mildish cigar with a balanced profile. Because of its mildness and good flavor, and the fact that it burns very well for a ligero, I make this the quantity-dominant leaf in my blends I use it with. My current fave blend with this is to use it with the Cibao Habano seco at a rate of 2- or 3-1 along with your seco of choice. The more flavorful the seco the better, since this will produce a mild blend–unless used with a strong wrapper, which I don’t do, since a strong wrapper will overwhelm the nice subtle flavors of this tobacco. Unless you only like butt-kick blends, this is a good one to add to your kit. I don’t like everything, but I like this a lot.
