PA Broadleaf Ligero grown in the DR. Unlike traditionally grown PA Broadleaf, this tobacco is primed and not stalk cured. This gives the tobacco a more distinct difference in primings compared to harvesting the entire plant and hanging it to cure. Said to have notes of molasses and hints of citrus and cedar.

I tested this in a clay pipe by rolling it in a plug and twisting it into the pipe. This was to try and emulate the shape of a cigar in miniature. I loved it so much, I may or may not ever make a cigar out of it. I just ordered a second pound of it.
The tobacco leaves smell more like tea with a touch of hay than tobacco. The smoke gives you a sea salt presence like fine dulse over fine green tea blended with white tea. There is a white pepper taste and a cream and malt sensation. Who needs a pipe blend when a whole leaf tobacco is this delightful all on it’s own.
