This is a fairly dark cigar wrapper, but not as dark as previous crop years.
Developed in Cuba in the mid-1980s, this Habano 2000 Tobacco Wrapper is now produced in Ecuador. Habano 2000 grown outside of Cuba is a beautiful leaf with an oily appearance and dark, silky texture. It has rich, complex and bold flavors and toasty aromas.
As with all Whole Leaf Tobacco products, this leaf comes in proper moisture content for working, but additional moisture might be needed to make the wrapper more pliable and elastic for wrapping. All of our tobacco is sold by the pound. The price reflects the cost per pound of tobacco unless otherwise noted.

Rich in flavor, ads a nice kick and awesome retrohale. I used it as a binder and wrapper as a burn test and it burned very well. Delicious.

Fragrant, stretchy leaf, with good tensile strength. Burn is excellent. This is an “Oscuro” wrapper that is nearly black. It’s a joy to work with, and adds a dark, woody aroma. Its nicotine strength takes a medium cigar to a medium-full. The leaf size is sufficient to easily wrap four thick robustos per leaf.

Very nice looking.. Great flavor and strong leaf.. Does not tear easily unless you have it drenched with water.
One star less, since the veins are very thick and to get a 2.5 inch wrapper strip, you end up with some of the thick ones inadvertently.

Purchased this Habano “Oscuro” and the leaves are nowhere near the term “Oscuro” it is more of a Sun grown color. And very very sweet in smell right out the package.

The Habano Oscuro is the darkest natural tobacco we’ve had in nearly 15 years of selling wrapper. It is not dyed black like that found on cheap cigars to hide inperefections and give the cigar of a monotone color.

Smoking a Corona I made over a year ago wrapped with this leaf. Difficult to use, lots of veins. Major misgivings. But aging works wonders. Rustic character evolved into a rich, classy, mellow full bodied cigar, with a premium aroma. Worth the investment if you are looking for a satisfying Maduro experience…
