Flavor profiles are, slight nutmeg and cinnamon, smooth and nutty with hints of earth and slight vanilla notes.
This listing is for Piloto Cubano Viso which has a medium strength with a dark brown color.
Piloto Cubano is a tobacco variety that originated in the town of Piloto, in the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba. There is a mystery as to how it arrived in the Dominican Republic – either it was received in letters stuffed with cotton by Tobacco farmer Jose Mendez, or, the seed was brought directly over by a mysterious immigrant named Santorini.
We are proud to make this tobacco available to you now. This tobacco is grown in the Cibao Valley where some of the richest soil in the Dominican Republic is found.

There generally aren’t a ton of great visos available at retail, but this is one of my faves. If you’re looking to sort of fill out your viso options, this is an excellent choice. Decent strength and nice flavor. This can be the dominant leaf in a blend.

I’m the odd guy out on this: has a distinctive flavor my tongue doesn’t care for, tried it blended and straight. Nice leaf, great case out of the pack, nothing wrong there. I’ll age and keep trying. May be me.

Adds a very nice aroma and flavor to a blend. I’m very glad I purchased this leaf!

I like it. It reminds me of the domestically available “Henry Clay” cigars. To me, it has a dark, rich flavor. I seem to blend it most frequently with correspondingly dark and rich tobacco … for example, Pennsylvania. At least that’s my perception. Your mileage may vary.
