As ligero varieties go, Pelo d’Oro ligero is not quite as potent in nicotine strength, though stronger than the average viso. The aroma is soft and dry, suggestive of a freshly cut plank of black walnut. On the tongue, it differs from the “edge” of Nicaraguan ligeros, by being better mannered.
For creating a medium-to-full strength cigar, Pelo d’Oro ligero blends beautifully with various seco and viso choices–never jumping out on its own. It also blends remarkably well with Peru ligero.
