I’m gonna try 500 Virgins this year I hope to be able handle them all.
My daughter is going to have to make room in the greenhouse I bought her.

I shouldn’t laugh, but I did the exact same thing today. I have some seedlings that didn’t make it, and need to replace them. My seeds have vanished into thin air. Looks like nwtseeds is getting some repeat business from me!

I’m going with Big Gem and Bright Leaf this yr.
My daughter that is in AG said to put sugar in the shaker for small seed so I gave it a try.
Heat mat with paper bags on top. And sugar for casing. I think I started about 5000 + seeds of each

Sounds like a good idea. Historically, tobacco seed was added to sand, for the same purpose. You can easily see the sand, but you can't easily see the seed.

Or Ants!!! Me I'd just use sand.
I just use small plastic pill bottle. Make a small hole in the middle of the lid, (a hot needle or a small nail), tip upside down and give it a little tap or two. You can practice on a piece of paper till you get it right. This a lot of thinning.

With a heat mat and an oscillating fan nearby (not blowing on the seedlings but gently moving the air around them) and you should keep mold at bay.
